The visceral longing, that inexplicable desire to both be consumed and to consume, hints at a yearning to forge an impossibly intimate connection with the flesh, the individual. When one devours, they forever carry a part of the other person within them, a spiritual intertwining that persists eternally. Conversely, for the one consumed, they become irrevocably linked to the consumer. It's a strange and rather unsettling analogy, but in some convoluted way, it paints a picture of love, at least in my own, unique perspective.

Carnis [Yan Experiment] General Hcs

A little post exploring the character of my new love Carnis Warnings for Cannibalism, Self Harm and Murder.

• Carnis is a lab made Human/Cow Hybrid created with regenerative abilities for the purpose of organ harvesting to be used on ill patients and as a source of food for the population. A shy, anxious creature who only wants to be loved. They are one of around a dozen successful experiments and the only S ranking Hybrid with meat a similar quality to prime Angus beef. The project was shut down by higher ups after complications and the still living subjects were to be sold to the highest bidder. Through biting through their chains and the aid of a third party Carnis was able to escape before the auction. They are presumed to be deceased.

• Carnis knows very little about the human world. As they grew, it was imprinted into their impressionable mind that all they are is livestock. Due to this idea, Carnis may grow upset or feel they are worthless if Reader rejects their offers of fresh meat. They both reject the notion all they are is meat, and clings to it as their only way to get what they desire. Carnis believes love to be a reward for them to gain by doing everything in their power to prove their worth from sacrificing their flesh to keeping a tidy house.

• Carnis prefers they/them pronouns, but as long as they are treated well name/pronouns does not matter to them. She/Her and It are the only ones they don't like as the former doesn't feel right and the latter reminds them of their time in the facility.

• When under extreme bouts of stress, Carnis bites/claws at their skin sometimes until they see bone. The easiest way to negate these reactions is by holding their hands or if they are wearing something that belongs to reader as their scent calms them down and they would hate to get their blood on something that belongs to them.

• Carnis is not aggressive by default nor do they typically rely on violence to get their way, but if they see anyone attack Reader in any form they have little control on what their body tells them to do. This can be something as harmless as a friend teasingly pushing them. When enraged, Carnis will not stop until the threat is neutralize or if Reader is able to smooth them in time. Their teeth and nails are their primary weapons which they will use to rip out the jugular and face of their target. Will cry like a baby afterwards and immediately seek Reader for comfort for what they've done

• Carnis has a habit of repeating words they say and parroting what others say as well. This majorly stims from learning most of their vocabulary from researchers and guards they interact with. They have been shunned for this feat in the past and often try to think deeply before they speak with unfamiliar persons, but with Reader they are at their most relaxed and thus their speech is relaxed as well.

Another thing they only allow Reader to do is touch their hair, horns and tail. Their hair is the only thing that doesn't naturally regenerate which leads to them valuing it more than anything below Reader and their horns and tail have just always been a touchy area considering majority of the population don't have either. Playing in their hair or rubbing their horns are sure-fire ways to smooth them or help them fall asleep during restless nights.

• Junk Food and Candy has always been a luxury to them as their former caretakers withheld them a treats for compliance which is why they attempt to woo Reader with both. It is their go to method of cheering reader up when they are down - keeping various candies and treats on them at all times. Their idolization of sweet and treats runs so deep one reason they may fall for Reader is them just giving them a piece of chocolate.

I didnt get him after 58 pulls but his voicelines are up on the wiki so what can you do.

- I think Dante actually has a problem with this one. TH!Gregor is like oh ho hum about it since they work together fine but when he finds out Dante is not only workplace romancing The Gregiverse but one of the Gregs they are okay with is a serial killer cannibal he's like Hold On.... Hey?

-He goes out of his way to be powerful and alluring and charming and suave and all that and Dante just goes .... :/ at him. He is like oh so you don't want me Confident. And Happy. And has it pointed out with him that the most confident and happy Gregor (Zwei) has Dante absolutely sauced but that only makes him more mad

-Twinhooks Gregor has enjoyed the absolute highest level of protection from all conflict through Hook and the Middle and has depended on that coddling for a while so he doesn't actually have conflict resolution skills & he's a little threatened by his burgeoning need to beg for it

-All Twinhook Gregor does is steal cheat and lie and so he opts to pretend to NOT be strong and independent (WHICH HE IS) since Dante wants to be the boss. Begging is ok if its fake. Dante breaks, just as planned, but tragically Gregor surrounds himself with underlings and guardians because he craves coddling and thus being dommed Awakens things within him.

-Most whipped Gregor next to G-Corp. Smug about it though like "ohh sorry but I got people who won't allow me to die 😏". Really lays it on thick schmoozing with Dante, overtly romantic, competitive with Outis for brown-nosing and wants to be The Favourite

-New, unique dynamic of We Have To Kill Them

-Dante acts pretty neutrally with him in public which really distills the comedy I think. This too is a form of domination

-Semi-related he's pretty vocally annoyed they have a Colour Fixer who just hangs out and makes sure Dante's head doesn't need to explode and does nothing else. What is the point of a powerful person being around if it isn't in service of anything <- his existential worldview at this point <- He gets along with the Middle exceptionally well as you might imagine

There is very little room for Dante within the world of U Corp IDs... Here is my most beautiful worlds

-Dante is trying to pay off a guest and has the baffling ability to make money that has delayed the process by months and the hostage is like. Genuinely just a guest at this point because it's taken as a given that Dante will be able to meet the next threshold Somehow. The dynamic has stretched out long enough that basically everyone views it as paying rent to live on the port. Everyone knows Gregor is smitten but he won't admit it he just Hovers. Meaningfully. Looking so Dashing. One time he says he'll forgive the debt if Dante joins the pirates and Dante goes Uhm. No. And it gets under his skin so bad he can't work up the guts to ask them out to casual platonic dinner

-Dante is a whaler and notoriously helps tourists navigate the port streets without getting hostage kidnapped and gives paypigs jobs on their boat once they run out of cash. This is actually a small profit cycle so Hook has never minded it. Gregor starts allowing the paypigs to meet with the guests more often as an excuse to make Dante hang out with him and Talk Shop (putting them in charge of more boats with more people who can't afford to save their guests so Dante will have to spend more time with him). Dante isn't comfortable with being friendly with the Twinhook Pirates so doesn't let it escelate. Again, Gregor has to separate his status from his relationships and beg for it. It drives him crazy that Dante doesn't take advantage of this. Getting them to stop neutrally dismissing his overtures feels like he earned fucking deliverance

enjoying a fictional villain is... not synonymous with supporting their actions, which feels so weird to say because surely that's just obvious? everyone loves a villain! we love to love them, we love to hate them! no heros without villains, bb. it's fiction! characters are tools for story telling and demand all sorts of emotions from the reader.

but I do think there is a bit of a misconception when it comes to characters who are sexually abusive. I've heard a few people say that sa is treated as the highest offence beyond what other villainous characters engage in (murder, genocide, cannibalism etc) which I don't think is the intention? it's just that a character that is sexually (as well as physically and emotionally) abusive, written to realistically portray an abuser who victimises a sympathetic main character is going to affect the audience on a deeper level than a character whose brand of villainy is less commonly experienced outside of fiction, and therefore written with less depth to this aspect of their character. it is the intention of the writers that valentino abusing angel makes you upset and uncomfortable whereas alastor being a cannibal serial killer is fun and edgy.

maybe it goes without saying buuuut sa and dv? really common! most people will have experience with some kind of abuse or mistreatment during their life! seeing it depicted in fiction triggers all kinds of reactions from survivors. some are in the camp of hating val, some really love him. some people find val and angel's story cathartic, some people find it triggering. I imagine that most of us who are sa/dv survivors feel both extremes to varying degrees. all this to say that valentino as a villain is so impactful not because he is the most evil but because he is the most recognisable.

fiction is a wonderful vessel for truth. in general, I think we should all be more kind to eachother regarding how fiction makes us feel. there is no "wrong" way for a character to affect you - we are all reacting through the lense of our own stories.

Cannibalism anon back, I have thoughts on the way Dean and John would both view the cannibalism

John would view at as an addiction I think. He'd taste the blood for the first something, something outrageously sweet and toxic, and run. But he gives into himself again and again because Dean gives in so easily. He knows it's wrong, I think John does a lot of stuff he knows as wrong but he does it for 'the greater good.' And he would rationalize it by saying Dean wants this. If it's not him, who else would do this to Dean

Dean, on the other hand, think it is an honor. It is the highest form of devotion and worship to a person he can do, and his father accepts it. So despite any pain, all he can think is "he accepts it. He accepts me." over and over again, anytime he cuts off a tiny piece of himself for John. Unlike what John thought, Dean would never think of doing this with someone else, it is a form of worship only his father could get

Yeah, I think this feels true! I tend to think about like. Like the circumstances that I think would need to exist for John to want to eat dean are probably more along the lines of having the act ritualized. (Unless we’re talking vampirism which I know is different, but which I also love.) I don’t know that I see John having the kind of disposition that cannibalism on its own appeals to (while I do think Dean would find being eaten appealing), but I think of like…deeply religious au John. Or maybe…

I guess now I’m thinking about it, I’m also interested in a version of John where he’s perpetually resisting the urge to do violence against dean, like biting and tearing his flesh. And how cannibalism would feel like an extension of that, john wanting to really get the taste of dean on his tongue, wanting the feel of unrestrained physical expression. Which is very “love of the wolf” to get back to my helene cixous reference in the last post. Love is wanting to eat, and yet stopping before the harm is done.
